Disclosure: This is a Sponsored post. Any opinions are my own.
We're quickly approaching the dog days of Christmas Giving. You know when everyone is scrambling around at the last minute to buy gifts for family/friends that we totally forgot about. Gift cards are my go-to gifts in a pinch. They're the perfect size, come in many denominations, can be mailed and don't require wrapping.
When I purchase gift cards I try and think about the person I'm buying the card for. Their likes, dislikes, etc.. But, not everyone is like me. I'm not passing any judgement upon anyone but some of the gift cards I've received in the past...... did not have "Detroit Mom" written all over them if you know what I'm saying... Still... I'm always grateful when someone gifts me anything. It's just that, at the end of the day when I dump out my purse/wallet and I look at all of the various gift cards I've received, many I will NEVER use.
Re-gifting
Sure, the Seinfield coined phrase of "re-gifting" is an option. Giving a gift card you received as a gift that you don't want or won't use to some unsuspecting friend or family member. But, in many cases if I can't use a gift card most of my family or friends can't either.
Sell
Selling gift cards via social media or to friends can be a tricky situation. How much do you charge? Do you know? I can honestly say I wouldn't know what to charge.
Cardpool
Cardpool is a service that allows customers to buy discounted gift cards for up to 35% off or sell gift cards for cash. All orders and transactions include FREE USPS Shipping, and are covered bu their extensive Purchase Guarantee Program.
Cardpool is a win-win when it comes to gift cards you can't/won't use. Check out the infographic below to see how Cardpool works.
I used Cardpool for the first time a few days ago and I've already received my discounted gift card. My Birthday is in January and I really wanted to relax in a nice hotel. So, I decided to purchase a gift card for the Marriott hotel chain. Although, their were several other gift cards that caught my eye, in the end I decided to go with the Marriott gift card. While my gift card won't pay for the total cost of my room, it will definitely put a dent in the final cost. My card was not a virtual card so it was shipped to me via USPS and arrived pretty quickly. Now, that I have my card in hand I can go about finding the perfect Marriott hotel to spend my Birthday.
Do you have a special day coming up? Perhaps you have gift cards of your own you would like to sell and get the cash to use on something for yourself. Whether your buying or selling gift cards I strongly suggest you to check out Cardpool. They have pages and pages of gift cards to sell and they're always accepting new gift cards to purchase, FROM YOU!
How about a Free $10 Cardpool gift card. Yep! Cardpool is giving away not 1, not 2 but 10, $50 gift cards! Just enter via the form below!
Good Luck!
