The House of Martell has partnered with QuestLove of the Roots, to bring the Martell Vanguard Concert Series to select cities. Detroit was the second stop of this legendary series and this DIVA was truly impressed with the sheer genius of the series.
Behind the Scenes before the Show
These two award winning entities came together and brought down the house. QuestLove took us on a musical journey that was reminiscent of History of Hip-hop but with a few surprises for us "old heads", you know, the Over 40 crowd. I hear in other cities people give you plenty to drink but never any food. Something about cheap liquor prices or something... But, here in the "D" we were raised on, Good Music AND Good Food! Apparently, Martell received the memo because the drinks and the food were both on FLEEK! as my teenagers say!

My faves for the night were the seasonal pumpkin squash soup and the Side Car drink. Thanks to designer Rick Williams and the Detroit based Martell Council partnering with hometown chefs like Chef Bell and Hip-hop artist Black Milk the food collaboration along with ALL of the night's collabo's.
