#2013HGG Adventures of the Penguin King Review

Disclosure: I received no form of compensation for this review. All opinions are my own and may differ from yours.

The Adventures of the Penguin King is a poignant story about Rex, a very real penguin. Rex returns home to Penguin City after being away for three years. After meeting up with some cousins Rex realizes some things have changed but mostly his home has remained the same.
Following Rex and his adventures as he transitions into a mature penguin right before our eyes has ups, downs and hilarity as the voice of Rex is narrated by Michigan native Tim Allen.  Somehow the writers in their infinite wisdom reveal to the the watcher we (humans) are not that different from Penguins. Although some of the roles are reversed we essentially have the same goals, Life Love and the pursuit of Happiness.
Rex experiences physical and emotional transformation as he learns how to be an adult. A family tale filled with joy, tragedy and fear. Unlike Humans no one tells Penguins what is expected of them as adults. It's a journey that's learned through trial and error. My husband and I really enjoyed watching Rex and his adventures. I feel it's a soon to be classic that will be revisited many times.
