Trending Thursday #Detroit Edition

The weather today in Detroit is a brisk 43 Degrees. A little warmer than the past few days but still calls for the complete cold weather hook up/ Hoodie, heavy coat, Old English D baseball hat (gloves are optional).
Sports

The Detroit Tigers finally answered the citizens of Detroit's wishes and TRADED Prince Fielder to a Texas baseball team. The real losers are still the Tigers because along with dumping Fielder off to the other team they also had to send the team $$$ to accept him. Prince really turned out to be a major disappointment to Tiger fans this past season. During play off games he was caught off guard not on his base or just continually came up short. I don't know if his head was not in the game due to rumors of his impending divorce or what. I'm just glad he's gone.
**A note to Prince, when an employer pays you $214 Million dollars you have to actually do Work for that money. You can't just suit up and expect to get paid off of your father's name. Good Luck and Good Riddance!

Entertainment

There's talk in the rumor mill Detroit rapper Eminem and his estranged ex- wife Kim will be getting back together, AGAIN. The two have been married and divorced to one another, TWICE. They have one daughter who was recently voted homecoming queen of her suburban Michigan High school. I'm not sure if the rumors are true or not that remains to be seen but it does have a hint of Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton quality to it.

On the road to Justice for "Renisha"

Earlier this week Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy FINALLY brought charges against the man that murdered Renisha Bryant. He faces 3 felony counts and bail was set at $250,000 which he immediately PAID and is currently out on bond FREE and awaiting trial.
** Renisha McBride was a 19 year old Detroit resident who was in a single car accident late one night on her way home. She was injured in the accident and her cellphone was not working. After waiting for the Detroit Police to arrive she ventured into a Dearborn Heights, MI. neighborhood seeking assistance. Injured, dazed and unarmed she knocked on the door of a Dearborn Heights home looking for HELP and received a FATAL Gun Shot wound to the Face. The homeowner gave two different answers for his reasons for murdering the Detroit teen. He was not immediately arrested by the police because of the "stand your ground law." After outrage from citizens, and national news coverage Wayne county prosecutor Kym Worthy filed charges.

Grosse Pointe Park Police?

A video has surfaced that was taken by a Gross Point Park police officer taunting a mentally challenged African American senior citizen. The officer can be heard on the video mocking the elderly man and using racial slurs. The video was leaked by the officer's estranged wife. The Gross Point Park police chief asked the Michigan State police to investigate the incident. The Michigan State police declined to investigate. More on this story and video's can be viewed on the Motor City Muckracker
