Make Tonight a Family Game Night

Years ago before the internet and video games families enjoyed game night. A certain day of the week was chosen and everyone in the family was in attendance. In my family game night was Friday. After dinner I would run to the closet and pull out my favorite games for us to play and enjoy. I was also in charge of snacks. I would pop popcorn make kool-aid and clear out the living room in anticipation of family game night. Monopoly was always my favorite board game to play. It usually took hours for us to complete one game of Monopoly so it was usually the last game of the night played. Playing Monopoly was fun but also it taught me so much about money, purchasing homes and learning patience to get what I wanted.
In recent years sales of board games have increased. More and more families are realizing the importance of family game night. Spending time together as a family is a priceless commodity that all families should invest in. Board games compared to video games are much more affordable. They last for years and years and never go out of style.
What was you favorite board game growing up? Does your family participate in family game night?
